Yellowstone Valley Woman is always looking for fresh voices from talented writers here in the Valley. If you’re interested in joining our team of the area’s best contributors and photographers, we’d like to see your best work.
YVW is a free magazine that strives to be the leading voice for women and women’s issues in the Billings area. It is published 6 times a year and is distributed at sites in Billings, Roundup, Columbus, Laurel, Red Lodge and select areas in northern Wyoming.
Our editorial content focuses on every aspect of a woman’s life – business, fitness, fashion, health, nutrition, cooking, lifestyle, decorating, culture and the arts. Human-interest stories may focus on women who have gone above and beyond in their community or whose accomplishments are worth recognizing.
Do you have an idea that you think would spring to life on the pages of YVW? Pitch your idea by sending a query letter to our editor, Julie Koerber, at email@example.com. When submitting an idea for consideration for the first time, make sure you include a little information about yourself as well as any links to any published articles you’ve written.
Deadline for submission is by the 10th of the month or roughly 50 days preceding the next month’s issue. For questions on style, please refer to the Chicago Manual of Style.
Digital photos can be submitted with your piece. We require high-resolution images. Any photos containing children require a model release signed by legal parent or guardian. To receive a release, please email our editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please submit work to email@example.com, as a Word Document or cut and paste your piece into an e-mail. Include word count, address, and phone number. We reserve the right to edit for clarity, length, and style. Writers are paid within 30 days of publication. Acceptance of a piece is not a guarantee of publication. Yellowstone Valley Woman, in purchasing or assigning a story, will receive market exclusivity and will own the rights to your submission. YVW does not allow republication of any article without prior approval.
