Luxury Living in the Magic City

Chic Apartments with All the Amenities

The hustle and bustle of Grand Avenue keeps up its steady pace while Julie Lindberg adds final touches of décor to her three-bedroom luxury apartment. A brightly-colored collage painted by her grandchildren hangs in the hallway. She decides it’s the perfect spot. Having recently moved into Avenue C, Billings’ fresh approach to modern living, Julie delights in turning her fourth-floor apartment into her new home.

“I like the sun. I like light,” says this active septuagenarian and former owner of Raffia who has sold her home in favor of downsizing. Since she spends a lot of time in Missoula with her daughter and family, it makes sense “not to have the responsibility of owning a home.”

Julie now comes and goes on a whim, never having to worry about maintenance, security or any other constraint of homeownership. She loves her freedom and the southwest views from her living room windows.

The large corner windows fill the open living room, dining, and kitchen with an abundance of natural light. The space seems bright and airy as does the entire 182,000 square-feet of this stunning community ideally located along tree-lined 17th Street West.

“This isn’t counting the courtyard, the pavement or the garages,” notes Brett Aune, project manager for Jackson Contractor Group, general contractor company for the 126-unit complex. “There are four and three-quarter acres on this lot. The location the developer sought is close to the business district and restaurants. It’s within walking distance.”

Sitting directly behind West Park Promenade, this convenient-living concept which Brett mentions “has all types of amenities that may not be available at any other apartment-type home,” offers residents “resort-style” living.

“Our residents have access to West Park Promenade for shopping, they can borrow bicycles to use on the trails or around town, or they can go fishing,” adds Stacy Edwards, business manager for Avenue C. “We provide housing that reflects Montana and the vision for residents to be outdoors. It’s the best of both worlds. It’s a little of the West, yet, modern. It’s a great way of life!”

The six-tower exterior design of the building echoes western native landscape with warm earthy shades of copper and brown. Stone and metal weigh heavily in the mix, lending clean modern lines. Stacy points out that the exterior ‘look’ of Avenue C conforms to that of West Park Promenade, enabling it to blend in peacefully. This thoughtfully designed structure affords residents a sense of home and of being part of the neighborhood.

“We love it here,” exclaims Saskia Silva, a new arrival from the Bay Area, along with her husband, Carlo. “When we moved to Billings it was not an option to buy a house so we looked for an apartment. It was a real challenge as we like upscale, modern living. When we found Avenue C, we said, ‘we need to live there!’”

The young couple enjoys their two-bedroom expansive space. They’re ecstatic with the view they get from their floor-to-ceiling living room window. Surrounded by the lush inner courtyard, beautifully manicured by Good Earth Landscaping, the heated pool below displays a splash of theatrical grandeur. “The view from our living room is what people see when traveling,” exclaims Saskia, who has journeyed to many parts of the world.

They also appreciate sharing the new digs with Goku, their Shiba Inu puppy, a Japanese breed. “We love that it’s pet-friendly here,” she continues. “We use the pet lounge upstairs. There are two dog parks here. Our dog, our baby, is welcomed as much as we are.”

The welcome mat rolls out in style at Avenue C with wine tastings, a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness and yoga retreat with classes by Black Orchid Yoga, and pick-up and delivery service by Wetzel’s Quality Cleaners. Concierge binders filled with maps, coupons, school locations, and ideas of what to do around town are available.  “This way people not from here,” notes Stacy, “can see what Billings has to offer.”

The Magic City presents ample opportunity for exciting outdoor recreation while the living spaces here offer the pampering touch.

Each apartment is independent with its own central heat and air-conditioning, and, private balcony. Each boasts wood plank-style flooring, nine-foot ceilings, and white quartz countertops in chef-inspired kitchens with soft-close custom cabinetry. The baths are tiled and stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, including full-size washer/dryers, create that uptown finish.

This four-level ‘new standard of living’ provides more than a place to rent. It’s a home. It’s a place to feel secure. “It’s customer service with a concierge-type feel,” acknowledges Stacy. “We want top-notch customer service for our residents for when a sink needs to be fixed (Maintenance Supervisor Hank Hewett is Johnny-on-the-spot) or a recommendation to where they can go out to eat.”

Saskia and Carlo need not search far for their social activities. One of the highlights rests inside the building – the Club Lounge and Game Room. “It’s absolutely gorgeous,” expresses an exuberant Saskia. “We like the modern design, yet it’s rustic. But this is Montana!”

Two flat screen TV’s snug up against the back bar made of rough-hewn lumber giving this space high impact design. A long granite bar serves up refreshments. This sports-style lounge promotes a fun atmosphere for residents and their guests to chat, play some pool or shuffleboard, or just “hang out with friends.”  An added bonus happens to be a view below of the courtyard’s L-shaped pool by Thompson Pools.

Across from this lively area sits the roof-top terrace with splendid views of the rims. “It’s really inviting,” shares Stacy. An elegant linear gas fireplace flickers while the evening sun spreads a soft glow across the rims. “Imagine sitting here with friends or by yourself enjoying a glass of wine at sunset, or sunrise,” she musingly adds.

Day or night, the fenced intimate setting of the roof-top terrace appeals to the romantic, the bookworm or the cook. The serene ambiance caresses the senses, comfy chairs embrace the soul and a full kitchen complete with grilling station defies the imagination. It’s premium amenities like these that present modern convenience with traditional Montana living.

Avenue C sits smack dab in the center of town, yet, it’s just a quick shot up to the rims to enjoy a hike or bike ride, a five-minute drive to downtown or a few paces out the door to shop the Promenade.

Residents can also entertain family and friends in the onsite café available for parties, receptions, and other gatherings. They can meet and greet in the spacious commons area inside the front door. They can relax in their personal space whether it’s an expansive three, two or one-bedroom apartment.

“King-size beds fit in all the apartments except for in the studio apartments,” notes Stacy, “and they have garden tubs (a shower/tub combo in the one-bedrooms), over-sized closets, kitchen pantry, and all patio doors have interior mini-blinds.”

The timeless interior design of Avenue C signals a new benchmark for our fair city while the exterior reflects the tradition of our land. It ushers in a fearless blend of urban glamour with rustic refinement.

This highly sophisticated community with high-end finishes, exclusive amenities and services add the spice to luxury living in the Magic City.
