Celebrating Family

Summer is full of sunshine, ice cream, and backyard gatherings, but it also brings a handful of sweet little holidays you might not even know about. Cousin’s Day, Aunt & Uncle Day, Parents’ Day, and Sister’s Day all happen within a couple weeks of each other. They are quiet reminders to appreciate the people who have helped shape who we are.

What better way to say “you matter to me” than with flowers?

Each blossom has its own personality—just like your favorite aunt or that cousin who always makes you laugh. There are so many gorgeous flowers in season right now that it’s easy to build a bouquet that’s meaningful, beautiful, and totally summer-ready. Whether you’re sending something special or just dropping off a surprise at someone’s doorstep, here’s are some suggestions for matching the right flowers to the right family member.

Cousin’s Day (July 24) – Gerbera Daisies

Cousins are often our first best friends—the ones we got muddy with in the backyard, swapped secrets with at family gatherings and still laugh with decades later. Gerbera daisies are fun, colorful, and full of personality just like cousins. They come in all kinds of bright shades—hot pink, orange, yellow—and they make people smile.

Mix a few colors together in a loose, cheerful bouquet and add a little fun greenery like moss carnations or seeded eucalyptus to make them pop. It’s the kind of gift that says, “Thanks for always being the fun one at the family reunion.”

Aunt & Uncle Day (July 26) – Sunflowers

There’s something steady and warm about a good aunt or uncle. They’ve got stories, wisdom, and often a stash of snacks. Sunflowers are the perfect fit—sunny, strong, and full of heart. They radiate warmth, strength and that unmistakable feeling of home.

Go for a few sunflowers with some simple greenery and maybe a few purple accents. It’s a down-to-earth, heartfelt arrangement that’s perfect for porch drop-offs or a thank-you after brunch.

Parents’ Day (July 27) – Roses

Parents’ Day is kind of like the under-the-radar sibling of Mother’s and Father’s Day—but it’s still a great chance to thank the people who raised us. We don’t always pause to say how much we appreciate our parents—or the people who’ve filled that role in our lives. Parents’ Day is the perfect excuse to do just that, and what better way than with roses? Not the traditional red ones we save for romance, but bold, joyful colors like yellow, orange, or hot pink—perfect for celebrating the wild child you once were and the love that helped you grow. Bright roses still feel timeless and elegant, but with a playful twist that suits the unique bond between parent and child.

Sister’s Day (August 3) – Daisies

Whether she’s your big sister, little sister or soul-sister, this is a day to celebrate the one who’s always been there telling it like it is, cheering you on and raiding your closet. Daisies are sweet, playful and full of personality. They say “I love you” in a way that feels easy and true.

Whether you go for traditional white, sunny yellow or a fun lavender variety, daisies are a lovely reminder of shared memories and sisterly loyalty.

Add a Personal Touch

Want to make your gift even more special? Add a little handwritten note. You don’t have to be poetic—just tell them why you picked that flower. A simple “Sunflowers made me think of your warmth” or “Gerberas are as fun as you are” goes a long way.

A Sweet Reminder

Family doesn’t have to be big or perfect. Sometimes it’s a sister, an aunt, or a cousin who shows up when you need them most. Sometimes the best way to say thank you is with a few thoughtfully chosen stems, wrapped up with care and delivered with love.

This summer, take a moment to celebrate the people who feel like home. Let the flowers do a little of the talking—and enjoy the smiles they bring.
